Even if you don’t have a dog

Since starting Louie’s Club in Jan 2017, we have been approached by many people who don’t have dogs, but would love to spend time with and host dogs. They generally fell into one of these categories:
1) Dog recently passed away and they are waiting to get another one;
2) Had dogs in the past, but current work schedule or other commitments don’t allow for one; and/or
3) Like to dog sit for friends/family but don’t or cannot own one

We did a quick poll with our existing members and most said they would love to welcome these people into Louie’s Club.

So, we are excited to announce the biggest update to Louie’s Club yet — welcoming dog lovers (who don’t have dogs) to our community.

Choose Your Adventure

Starting today, when you sign up for Louie’s Club, you can choose one of the following options:

Depending on what you choose, you can search for dogs, hosts, or both. If you sign up as a host only, you can always add dogs later. And if you sign up only to get help for your dogs, you can add a hosting profile later.

Premium membership stays at $60/year for dog parents and costs $20/year for members without dogs.

Experience and References

Most dog parents want to see that you have experience caring for dogs before they can trust you with their dog. You can talk about your experience caring for dogs on your hosting profile, but if you don’t have a dog, we highly recommend getting references from friends whose dog you have watched, or from anyone who can vouch for you.

If you know someone who would love to host or walk dogs (but does not have one of their own), help them get a head start by writing a reference for them (members only).

We are excited to grow our community, help dog parents find the best care, and now help dog lovers make new four-legged friends!
